If you're a Jim Byrnes fan, there's one of his concerts available for your listening pleasure at this url: http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/singleConcert.html?20070326jimby.

I've heard it through once, and it's incredible. It's all the tracks from his latest album,
House of Refuge
. If you haven't heard this CD, you should, and then go out and buy it!

He got the Juno for his album House of Refuge. That's the good news. I might do the rant tomorrow. In other words, the Juno awards weren't worth the two hours I wasted to watch them.

I was at the concert release of Jim Byrnes latest CD, House of Refuge. WOW! I'd never heard him before, either live or on CD and I have to say it was incredible. Get that CD and never miss a chance to see him live. I know I'm not going to again.

It was thanks to the Highlander show that I found out about his music and I'm really glad I did.

The final track on the CD, The Beast In Me has me thinking of ideas for Forever Knight fanfic, Fortify Me and too many of the others were all really really good.

The CD is a mix of Gospel and Blues music. I've got to hear some of his other CD's now. Any recommendations?

I was just listening to Gordon Lightfoot's Black Day in July, and I realized how the lyrics are so applicable to today, not just when he wrote it.

Not saying anything longer as I have tons of reading and Latin homework to do.

Got to recommend some great spooky music for today. The Metrognome cd "One Ring". Tracks 4, 5, 9, 11 and 12 particularly. That's what we've been using for special effects for the last couple of years.

Went to a Queen tribute concert last night. WOW!! They looked identical and sounded identical to the Queen DVD's and CD's I have. However, it was loud enough that I'm fairly sure the group had a secondary mission to deafen the audience and also to blind them (half the time the spotlights were strobing in the audience). Of course I was only thirteen or fourteen rows from the stage which might have contributed to this feeling. I can still feel the beat of "We Will Rock You" and "One Vision".

Found a cd that I've been looking for for years. The Poppy Family. They're a '60's and early 70's group. Known for "Good Friends", "Beyond the Clouds" and many others.

Also found a best of disco cd where it turns out that I knew and loved all of the tracks.
