News in archaeology and history in the last few days seems to be coming mostly from Bulgaria.

The big story of the day appears to be the discovery of the gold mask. There are several stories linked from Early History News. In my opinion the mask strongly resembles the famed mask found in Mycenae, the Mask of Agamemnon.

The other story of the day is the discovery of a new set of ruins dating to the Old Kingdom period in Egypt.

Links to all of these can be found at: http://earlyhistorynews.blogspot.com/.

I'm putting together the morning post to Early History News. It looks like the big story of the day concerns this website: http://www.iath.virginia.edu/rome_reborn/test/RomeReborn1.0.html. There's not much there yet, but it looks like something worth keeping an eye on for the future.

Well, for sheer quantity of stories, the biggest story today has to be the move of the Acropolis Sculptures to the new museum. King Herod's tomb makes a reappearance in the news with an article on the Israelis and the Palestinians. The discovery of the tomb of an 11th century child in Sweden also made the news. There are other stories as well. Links to each of these stories can be found at http://earlyhistorynews.blogspot.com/.
